Originally a travel retail exclusive, this release of Macallan Oscuro was launched in 2010 as part of the 1824 Collection. The name Oscuro is Spanish for 'dark', which reflects its rich, deep colour. Produced from a combination of casks distilled between 1987 and 1997, the whisky is drawn exclusively from oak casks seasoned with Oloroso sherry. Bottled at 46.5%.
Nose: Ripened woodland fruits, dark chocolate, orange, creamy vanilla.
Palate: Delicate fruits, rich sweetness and spice. Dried figs, ripe oranges and a hint of crisp apples.
Finish: Full and lingering with a hint or warming wood smoke.
