A limited edition release in A Tale Of series by Glenmorangie is inspired by the woodlands near the home of Glenmorangie’s director of whisky creation, Dr Bill Lumsden. In a very unique move the whisky was created from barley that was kilned with botanicals; juniper berries, birch bark, heather flowers and a little peat were added to the fire to dry the malted barley. Matured in refill ex-bourbon casks. The woodland-inspired packaging design was created by famed, Thai illustrator Pomme Chan. Bottled at 46%.
Nose: Pine, juniper and coriander, along with roasted chestnut and an intriguing whisper of smoke.
Palate: Whirls of peppermint, eucalyptus and bitter orange followed by vanilla and hints of black liquorice.
Finish: Lemon, orange and a soft hint of oak.
