Boplaas Family Vineyards and Distilling is a six-generation family business nestled in the charming town of Calitzdorp, at the foothills of the Swartberg Mountains in the Klein Karoo. The distillery's roots trace back to 1880 when the first shipment of potstill brandy casks was transported to Cape Town harbour by ox-wagon for delivery to London. Following the repeal of distilling licences in the early 1920s, Boplaas' copper potstill remained dormant for nearly 70 years until it was reignited in 1989.

Renowned for its potstill brandy, wines, and port-styled wines, Boplaas has recently expanded its esteemed distilling heritage to include a range of notable whiskies. These whiskies are crafted with a focus on quality raw materials, meticulous distillation, and barrel aging, ensuring a high standard of excellence. The distillery's dedication to producing top-quality spirits has earned it numerous accolades and a reputation for creating exceptional whiskies that complement its well-established portfolio of brandy, wines, and port-styled wines.
