Launched in 2023, Compass Box Duality is a limited-edition blended malt whisky produced in collaboration with London’s Bimber Distillery, a small, West London craft distillery that laid down its first casks of malt whisky in 2016. One of two Duality expressions created by Compass Box’s James Saxon and Bimber’s Matt McKay, who worked together to explore the range of base whiskies from both Compass Box’s Scotch archive and Bimber’s growing warehouse. Each whisky maker selected a distinctive sherried and peated element for their individual Duality blended malts, 60% peated whisky from barrels and 40% unpeated whisky from ex-sherry casks. The Compass Box Duality uses a core of smoky whisky from Ardbeg distillery (with a “teaspoon” of Caol Ila) aged in recharred ex-bourbon barrels and a Pedro Ximenez–matured malt whisky from Bimber. 1,050 bottles were produced. Non-chillfiltered, naturally coloured and bottled at 52%.
