More from Islay Scotch Whisky
The first core release from the Ardnahoe distillery on Islay. The name Infinite Loch comes from the distillery's water source, Loch Ardnahoe, Islay’s so-called 'Infinite Loch' because no-one knows the extent of its hidden depths. Matured for 5 years in a combination of ex-bourbon and ex-Oloroso sherry casks. Non-chillfiltered, naturally coloured and bottled at 50%.
Nose: Sea-spray, Islay peat and dark chocolate.
Palate: Menthol, fresh fruits and bonfire notes.
Finish: A smoky, zesty finish.
The Ardnahoe distillery, located on the northeast coast (between Caol Ila and Bunnahabhain), was built in 2018 by the Hunter Laing family, who have been independent bottlers and blenders since their founding in 1948. At the time of becoming operational, Ardnahoe was the 9th active distillery on the island, but now, since Port Ellen has reopened, it is one of 10 - with more on the way!
Producing a peated whisky (40ppm), and the only Islay distillery to use wormtubs for condensing, the distillery has a capacity of under 1M litres of pure alcohol/year.
