The inaugural release in the Speyside distillery's Rare Collection series. Glenfiddich's Malt Master handpicked some of the oldest and rarest Glenfiddich vintage stock to craft this whisky. Bottled on 23 October 2000, each of the 600 bottles produced is individually numbered and comes in a stunning oak presentation case (complete with lock and key) and certificate of authenticity. Bottled at a natural strength of 43.6%.
Nose: Beautifully rich with layer upon layer of dried fruits, dark chocolate, roasted coffee and ripe black cherries. Waves of gentle wood smoke, polished leather and cloves.
Palate: Silky smooth and luxurious. Intense dried fruit notes are followed by rich fruitcake, dates, raisins and stewed apples. Over time slightly dry oak notes appear, with a hint of bitter chocolate and the faintest peat notes.
Finish: Incredibly long lasting and complex. Truly memorable.
