Launched in 2024 as part of the Glen Scotia distillery's Icons of Campbeltown series. The second of five annual limited editions celebrating the Campbeltown community spirit, The Dragon is inspired by Saint Michael, the courageous Archangel, who heroically slayed a fire-breathing dragon with his spear. This medium-peated single malt was matured for 14 years, initially in American oak before being finished in ex-Barolo red wine casks for 6 months. The packaging was designed by renowned artist Joel Holtzman, known for his collaborations with Marvel, Disney, and Lucasfilm. Non-chillfiltered, naturally coloured and bottled at a cask strength of 56.8%.
Nose: Ocean spray, red berries, peat smoke.
Palate: Melted brown sugar, raspberry, cranberry, apple, vanilla.
Finish: Long, red cherries and swirling peat smoke.
