The name Mâcon-Chaintré refers to white wines grown within a defined area in the villages of Chaintré, Chânes, and Crêches-sur-Saône. Dominique Cornin Mâcon-Chaintré 2021 is sourced from vineyards in the village of Chaintré, located in the southern Mâconnais region of Burgundy. The vines thrive on limestone-rich soils, which contribute to the wine's characteristic minerality. Grapes are 100% Chardonnay, harvested by hand to ensure optimal quality and are swiftly transported to the cellar to preserve freshness. The wine undergoes gentle pressing, followed by fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks to retain the purity of the fruit. Post-fermentation, it is aged on its fine lees for 12 months, enhancing texture and complexity. Bottled without filtration to maintain its natural character, this wine is a pure expression of its terroir. Bottled at 13%. (Bottle size 750ml)
Nose: Aromas of ripe pear, white peach, and citrus zest are intertwined with hints of acacia flowers, honeysuckle, lemongrass, fennel and a subtle stony minerality.
Palate: A medium-bodied wine with a creamy texture. Flavours of lemon curd, green apple, and melon are complemented by a touch of almond and a delicate saline note.
Finish: A crisp, refreshing finish marked by brisk acidity and lingering notes of citrus and chalky minerality.
