An Oa (pronounced ‘an oh’) joined the core Ardbeg range in 2017. Matured in a combination of ex-Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, virgin oak and ex-Bourbon barrels and then vatted and married in a new bespoke "gathering vat" made from French oak. Non-chillfiltered and bottled at 46.6%. (Bottle size 750ml)

Nose: Rounded and smoky with creamy toffee, aniseed and dates. A suggestion of juicy fruits along with fragrant candle wax, sea air and smoked herbs.

Palate: Syrupy sweetness with milk chocolate, treacle toffee, aniseed, orange and smoky tea leaves. Nutmeg, cinnamon, a whiff of cigar smoke, nuttiness and oak.

Finish: Sweet with floral overtones, mint toffee and some malty biscuit notes.
