Part of Balvenie's limited release 17yo whiskies that used various finishes and part-maturations for the different expressions. This one is a vatting of Balvenie that was finished in casks that once held heavily peated whisky, vatted with whisky finished in new American oak casks. Bottled at 43%.

Nose: Prominent smoke softens to reveal oak, honey and vanilla.

Palate:  The softer smoke continues but is balanced with cinnamon and nutmeg spices and the continued sweeter notes from the new American oak casks.

Finish: Sweet and spicy with a hint of smoke.
