A single cask release from the Dailuaine distillery in Speyside, bottled by Adelphi independent bottlers. Distilled in 2015, matured for 9 years in a first-fill Oloroso sherry hogshead and bottled in 2024. Only 298 bottles were produced. Non-chillfiltered, naturally coloured and bottled at a cask strength of 56.4%. (Bottle size 750ml)
Our 3rd Adelphi release and our 94th exclusive whisky, from one of our favourite independent bottlers (top 3, no contest). This is also the first time we have bottled a Dailuaine, which is a distillery we never see in SA, and (along with Benrinnes) is becoming a rather sought after distillery for indies, as Mortlach and Longmorn are less available, particularly when matured in sherry - as this one is! Not exactly a Godzilla-level "sherry monster" but at least a T-Rex, with plenty of sherry punching through from the smaller hogshead sherry cask (250L), as opposed to a more traditional larger sherry butt (500L).
Nose: Toffee apples, lovely caramel and creamy cappuccino.
Palate: Cookie dough ice cream, toasted soft gingerbread with salted butter, pumpernickel, ginger snaps and red cherry.
Finish: Medium length with continued spicy ginger bite.
