Part of Diageo's Special Releases for 2020, a single malt from the Dufftown distillery in Speyside. Distilled in 2002, matured for 17 years in refill American oak hogsheads and bottled in 2020. Bottled at a natural cask strength of 55.1%. (Bottle size 750ml)
Nose: The first impression is of honeycomb; spun honey, but also a trace of beeswax. Beneath this is a faint floral note of dry grasses or wallflowers, with fresh orchard fruits on an earthy base.
Palate: The texture is creamy-smooth, the taste intense and sweet overall, and both drying and slightly coating as that hint of beeswax re-appears.
Finish: Quite long and warming with white pepper, becoming chili in the aftertaste.
