As per the Distillers Edition range, this is finished in ex-sherry casks, and in this case specifically Amontillado sherry casks. Distilled in 1995 and bottled in 2009 (so approximately a 13-14 year old). Bottled at 43% (1 litre).

Nose: A firm nose with soft vanilla and grape. Sweeter, nuttier tones come from the malted barley and cask wood.

Palate: Astringent after an early biscuit-sweetness with lots of malt and grape fruitiness.

Finish: Long, drying and oaky with faint peppery notes adding spice but softened by late caramel.
