The sixth limited edition in Glenmorangie's Bond House No.1 series. Named after an old warehouse from the 19th century, Bond House No. 1, which now serves as the still house for the distillery. Matured for 23 years entirely in first-fill American white oak casks, pre-filled with bourbon for four years after they had been gently dried. Distilled in 1996 and bottled in 2019. Bottled at 43%.
Nose: Fresh and perfumed, like a bouquet of roses, carnations and jasmine, with a piquant hint of coriander. Mandarin orange and pear follow on, enhanced by a fruity, candied sweetness.
Palate: A zesty, citrus mouthfeel brings a surge of oranges and lemons, tempered by ripples of vanilla and fudge. Next, with remarkable finesse for a whisky of such age, come subtle notes of ginger, sweet chili and oak.
Finish: Delicate and dancing, with the softness of cake mix, almonds and pear.
