More from All Whiskies Above R5,000
A highly sought-after and collectible Japanese single cask, single malt from the now closed Hanyu distillery. Distilled in 2000, matured in a red oak hogshead (#359) and bottled in 2016 to mark the tenth anniversary of the Number One Drinks Company, which played a significant role in preserving and promoting Hanyu's legacy. Bottled at a cask strength of 56.6%.
Number One Drinks Company was founded in 2006 by David Croll and Marcin Miller and specialised in the selection, export, and distribution of exclusive Japanese whiskies. They worked closely with Ichiro Akuto, the owner of the Chichibu distillery, and offer a range of whiskies from Chichibu, Hanyu, and the closed Kawasaki and Karuizawa distilleries.
