Blending modern and traditional distilling techniques, Herradura Añejo was first introduced in 1962. Distilled from 100% blue weber agave and matured in American white oak barrels for 25 months, 13 months more than the minimum requirement for a tequila to be considered an Añejo by Mexican law. Bottled at 40%. (Bottle size 750ml)
Nose: Notes of cooked agave, toasted oak and dried fruit.
Palate: A complex, spicy taste.
Finish: A smooth, sweet finish with a slight taste of spice.
Tequila Herradura (meaning horseshoe in Spanish, after a horseshoe was found in the agave fields and kept for luck) was founded in Jalisco by Félix Lópex in 1870 and still produces 100% agave tequilas in the same traditional manner as when it began. Since its acquisition by Brown-Forman in 2007, the brand has gained international recognition.
