Inspired by the numerous pieces of evidence excavated at two nearby archaeological sites: Blombos Caves and Pinnacle Point, Inverroche distillery created the Creative Collection in recognition of the significance of these discoveries. Launched in 2021, No.3 Coco Capensis (Capensis refers to that which originates from/belongs to the Cape, paying homage to the home of Inverroche) is a dry gin crafted from a combination of fynbos botanicals, considered to create a variant that complements juniper. This clear gin turns pink when adding a few drops of the accompanying rose-malva essence. Bottled at 43%. (Bottle size 750ml)
Nose: Opens with Rose Pelargonium, cherry blossoms and strawberry shortcake.
Palate: Layered and complex with ripe raspberries on entry. Hibiscus adds a sherbet edge, followed by the gentle heat of ginger buchu. A subtle juniper backbone appears mid palate. Ruby chocolate and Cape May add a soft creamy texture.
Finish: A long and cool finish with rose petals lingering on the edge of the tongue.
