The Isle of Raasay Distillery is one of the most exciting new producers in the current wave of new Scottish distilleries, as well as being the first legal distillery on the island, beginning production in late-2017.
Raasay R-01.1 is the third batch of the distillery's single malt, released in May 2022. Distilled between 15 May 2018 and 4 February 2019, peated and unpeated spirit are matured separately in first-fill rye whiskey casks, fresh Chinkapin oak and first-fill Bordeaux red wine casks. These six cask types are then married together to create this batch release. Packaged in a bespoke bottle that features fossils and rocks from the island moulded into the glass. Non-chillfiltered, naturally coloured and bottled at 46.4%.
