First launched in 2018 this particular release of the Jameson Bow Street 18yo Cask Strength is from August 2019. The whiskey is a combination of three components: a pot still whiskey filled into 2nd-fill ex-bourbon casks; a pot still whiskey matured in ex-bourbon casks and finished in 1st-fill; and a grain whiskey aged in 1st-fill ex-bourbon casks. These whiskeys are then vatted together and filled into first-fill ex-bourbon for several months. Non-chillfiltered and bottled at a cask strength of 55.1%.
Nose: Rich wood-driven influence with deep toffee notes and spice.
Palate: Toffee and oak remain consistent, with hints of leather and vanilla and a subtle sherry nuttiness adding depth and complexity.
Finish: Long and full. The sweet toffee notes slowly fade, while the toasted oak and spice linger on.
