A single cask release from the Linkwood distillery in Speyside, bottled by independent bottler Gordon & Macphail (G&M) in their premium Private Collection range. Distilled on 21 October 1982, matured for 40 years in a first-fill sherry butt and bottled on 23 December 2022. Only 573 bottles were produced. Non-chillfiltered, naturally coloured and bottled at a cask strength of 57.8%.
Nose: Intense stewed fruit combines with fragrant Autumnal spices and mature oak. Cocoa powder comes to the fore alongside toasted hazelnuts and aged leather.
Palate: Forest fruits lead to baked apple and sultana. Treacle toffee develops accompanied by citrus fruit and mature oak.
Finish: Full and long with lingering spice and blackcurrant.
