The Macallan Exceptional Casks series was relaunched in 2017, taking its name from a number of single cask bottlings Macallan released during the 1990s. Distilled on 26 April 1988, matured for over 30 years in a single European oak sherry butt (#3892) and bottled on 22 October 2018. Only 508 bottles were produced. Non-chillfiltered, naturally coloured and bottled at a cask strength of 53.9%.

Nose: Peat, orange zest, pear crumble.

Palate: Peat, citrus, biscuity, spicy, ginger, orange.

Finish: Short and spicy.
