Launched in 2016 in completion of the 1824 Masters Series, an exclusive luxury range within The Macallan portfolio that charts a path through the quality of The Macallan's unique sherry casks, increasing in scarcity and rarity through each expression. Comprised of whiskies matured in first-fill ex-sherry Spanish oak casks from a single Jerez cooperage. Presented in a six-sided crystal decanter, to celebrate Macallan's six pillars, with a separate crystal stopper. Naturally coloured and bottled at 43%. (Bottle size 750ml)
Nose: Raisin, dates and figs dominate with sultana and toffee apples. Dry ginger and soft cinnamon hint at the edges along with dark chocolate and vanilla sweetness lingers in the background.
Palate: Heavy and sumptuous. A rich fruit cake of raisin, dates and figs, apples, sultanas, orange then ginger, nutmeg, cinnamon and hints of clove. Oak notes are like velvet, soft and chic.
Finish: Silky smooth with a long and full finish.
