DESCRIPTION

Released in 2022, a single cask single malt release from South African based independent bottler The Inventer. Distilled at the James Sedgwick distillery and matured for 10 years in an ex-bourbon cask before bottling. Only 240 bottles were produced, each individually numbered. Non-chillfiltered and bottled at 46.3%. (Bottle size 750ml)

OFFICIAL TASTING NOTES

Nose: Fruity with sweet cherries and Christmas cake aromas.

Palate: Rich and intense fruit and nuts, well balanced with oak.

Finish: Sweet and soft, long lingering finish.

The Inventer is the legacy of Johan Venter, an icon in South Africa's brandy industry. After retiring from Distell in 2019, where he was the chief of its Centre of Excellence: Intrinsics, Johan spent time in Scotland refining blends and developing new products for three international whisky distilleries owned by Distell, namely Tobermory, Deanston and Bunnahabhain. The Inventer reflects Johan's personal hand and ingenuity, creating spirits that are uniquely South African.
