DESCRIPTION

Released in 2022, a single grain release from South African based independent bottler The Inventer. Distilled at the James Sedgwick distillery, matured initially for 3 years in a first-fill ex-bourbon cask, followed by 5 years in second- and third-fill casks before bottling. Only 270 bottles were produced, each individually numbered. Non-chillfiltered and bottled at 48.6%. (Bottle size 750ml)

OFFICIAL TASTING NOTES

Nose: Fruity with hints of vanilla and oak.

Palate: Sweet vanilla and honey.

Finish: Long finish and well-balanced with oak and sweet spices.

The Inventer is the legacy of Johan Venter, an icon in South Africa's brandy industry. After retiring from Distell in 2019, where he was the chief of its Centre of Excellence: Intrinsics, Johan spent time in Scotland refining blends and developing new products for three international whisky distilleries owned by Distell, namely Tobermory, Deanston and Bunnahabhain. The Inventer reflects Johan's personal hand and ingenuity, creating spirits that are uniquely South African.
