Launched in 2022, this is the seventh expression in Wolfburn's Small Batch series. Crafted from a 50/50 combination of whisky matured for seven years in first-fill Pedro Ximénez sherry butts, married with lightly-peated spirit matured in first-fill bourbon barrels. 5,100 bottles were produced. Non-chillfiltered, naturally coloured and bottled at 46%. (Bottle size 750ml)
Nose: Treacle and coffee notes lead the way, accompanied by subtle tones of cherry and dried spice. A heady aroma, full of promise.
Palate: Hazelnut, almonds and cloves are all present, wonderfully overlaid with soft peat smoke. The tannins are subtle, allowing the palate to develop beautifully.
Finish: Treacle sweetness remains present until the end accompanied by hints of spice. A trace of peat smoke continues to linger when all else is gone.
