DESCRIPTION

A single cask, single malt release from South African distillery Boplaas. Distilled from imported Scottish peated malt, matured in a combination of 2nd- and 3rd-fill ex-bourbon barrels for 5 years and then finished in a Boplaas Cape Tawny Port barrel for 3 years. Only 500 bottles were produced, each individually numbered and signed by Daniel Nel. Non-chillfiltered, naturally coloured and bottled at 46%. (Bottle size 750ml)

OFFICIAL TASTING NOTES

Nose: On the nose, this single malt whisky presents an inviting and complex aroma of sweet peat-smoke. The subtle smokiness is balanced by delicate notes of fruitiness, with a pleasant hint of white peach and a refreshing citrus tang. 

Palate: A delightful array of flavours. The peat is well balance and perfectly complemented by the sweet and fruity notes of white peach and citrus. The palate is further enriched with the complex flavours of dried and candied fruits from the Tawny casks.

Finish: The long and lingering finish of this whisky is a true delight. As the flavours of the palate begin to fade, the oak spiciness emerges, adding a warm and comforting note to the overall taste. The finish is smooth and elegant, with a perfect balance of sweetness and spiciness.
