Grapes for the Whalehaven Cabernet Franc 2016 were cold soaked for 4 days prior to fermentation. They were then pressed and put straight into barrels for malolactic (secondary) fermentation. The wine was racked immediately after fermentation and placed in 60% French and 40% American (35% 1st-, 40% 2nd- and 25% 3rd-fill) oak barrels for 12 months of maturation after which the wine was lightly filtered and bottled. Bottled at 14%. (Bottle size 750ml)

Nose: Competing aromas of savoury green peppers and ripe red cherries.

Palate: Enticing flavours of wild strawberries and cranberries on the palate.

Finish: A vibrant mouth-watering wine with fine tannins and a long lingering finish.
