Grapes were harvested on 9 March 2016 from vines planted in 2006 with an average yield of 10 tons per hectare. A large percentage of the grapes underwent whole berry fermentation to preserve primary fruit flavours. An aerated pump-over in the morning and a non-aerated pump-over in the afternoon to extract dry fine tannin structure. To obtain the correct oak and tannin ratio, the free run juice is matured in older barrels for 17 months. Bottled at 14.5%. (Bottle size 750ml)
Nose: A pronounced ripe strawberry and raspberry fruit expression with a hint of cinnamon spice.
Palate: On entry beautiful ripe fruit expression with notes reminiscent of strawberries, raspberries, blackberries and mulberries and a hint of candied cherries.
Finish: Refreshing with medium acidity and very soft tannin structure. Lingering notes of cooked fruits with sweet spice
