Piper-Heidsieck Cuvee Brut Champagne is a multi-vintage champagne produced from a blend of 100 crus sourced from 3 grape varieties: Chardonnay, Meunier and Pinot Noir, their signature grape, and a minimum of 30% reserve wines. Piper-Heidsieck has implemented sustainable practices that include hand-harvesting, zero herbicide use, and partnerships with over 240 winegrowers. After slow pressing, the must undergoes static clarification and thermo-regulated fermentation, with each grape variety and cru fermented separately in stainless steel vats. The wines are aged in the house’s cellars: on lees for a minimum of 24 months and after disgorgement for a minimum of 6 months. Residual sugar: 8g/l. Bottled at 12%. (Bottle size 750ml)
Nose: A lively bouquet with aromas of fresh green apple, pear, and citrus zest, complimented by subtle notes of freshly baked brioche, almonds, and a hint of white flowers.
Palate: Vibrant and fruit-forward, showcasing flavours of orchard fruits like apple and peach, with nuances of candied citrus, toasted nuts, and a touch of honey.
Finish: Elegant and refreshing with a clean, long finish. The balanced acidity adds a bright, crisp edge, leaving a lingering impression of minerality and subtle toasted notes.
Founded by German businessman Florens-Louis Heidsieck, who settled in France in the late 1700s, the champagne house began as Heidsieck & Co in 1785. Upon Florens-Louis's death in 1828, his nephew Christian Heidsieck partnered with Henri-Guillaume Piper and the name Piper-Heidsieck was born. Historically Piper-Heidsieck has graced numerous prestigious events, including the inauguration of the Eiffel Tower in 1889, the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II in 1953, and the wedding of Prince Charles and Lady Diana Spencer in 1981. Today, the House of Piper-Heidsieck is known for its innovative wine selection and blending, led by Chief Winemaker Emilien Boutillat.
