Testalonga Baby Bandito Stay Brave 2024 is crafted from 100% Chenin Blanc grapes, from bush-vines (un-trellised vines) planted in 1981 in Swartland that are farmed organically. Hand harvested in late January, the grapes were cooled down overnight to 6°C and processed the following day. The grapes were destemmed into open 2,000-litre fermentation tanks. After 14 days the tanks were pressed and the wine was allowed to finish fermentation in fibreglass tanks. Full malolactic fermentation occurred. The wine spent a total of 11 months ageing on its lees before being blended. A clarifying filtration before bottling occurs with a small SO2 addition. 15,000 bottles were produced. Residual sugar: 2.6g/l. Bottled at 12%. (Bottle size 750ml)

Nose: A vibrant and expressive nose, offering aromas of ripe yellow stone fruit, citrus zest, and dried herbs, with underlying hints of earthiness and subtle oxidative notes.

Palate: Textured and layered, the palate showcases golden apple, pear, and citrus peel, with a gentle grip from extended skin contact adding depth and structure. The lees ageing imparts a savoury complexity and richness.

Finish: A long, persistent finish, where the bright acidity lifts the fruit, while fine tannins and a delicate oxidative character provide structure and intrigue.
